PARAGON GYMNASTICS QUALIFIES TWO ATHLETES TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Fredericksburg, VA – April 4, 2006 – Paragon Gymnastics’ team members Kyra Trowbridge and Lauren Dauberman qualified for the USAG Level 9 Eastern National Championships this past weekend.  The national competition will be held April 21-23, 2006 at Vanderbilt Memorial Gymnasium, in Nashville, Tennessee.

After strong finishes at the Virginia USAG state championship meet, Kyra and Lauren were qualified to the Regional Championships in Maryland.  Only a percentage of athletes in each age bracket would then qualify to the National competition.  Trowbridge and Dauberman are the only two area athletes that qualified to nationals.

Kyra Trowbridge, age 11, competed in the Junior A group placing 5th out of 37 competitors from six states with a score of 36.05. Additionally, she was named the Region 7 Uneven Bars champion with a score of 9.325 and she placed 2nd on Floor with a 9.20. 

Lauren Dauberman, age 13, competed in the Junior B age group placing 8th out of 41 competitors with a score of 36.05.  She also placed 6th on Balance Beam with a 9.15.
